Get to Know Cassie

What would you say are your biggest strengths?
Developing and maintaining client relationships. I excel at getting to know my clients well which gives me an understanding of their aesthetic expectations, technical needs and staffing requirements.

What is the biggest challenge you have overcome with a past project?
Communication and early involvement are always the keys. One of the biggest challenges is when the design expectations exceed the budget. When we are brought in during the design/concept process, we can help to ensure that design ideas are achievable before they get too far down the road on the creative.

Do you typically work with a specific industry?
I work on a lot of different industries but I would think the majority are corporate events.

If you could plan an event anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Paris!

What performance metrics do you typically use to make sure your projects are on track?
I spend a lot of time reviewing the details to make sure there are no unanswered questions and always meet with the staff working each event ahead of time to make sure they have all the information I have. More than anything, I want my clients to be comfortable and confident that we are prepared and ready for their event. We work very hard to ensure that we staff all shows with the best possible personnel for that specific event. We always say we need to use the correct tool for the correct task.  Many companies own equipment – the difference between them is the service they provide and the staff they employ.

How would your friends and family describe you the day before one of your events?
Thoughtful. I am often going over the details and making sure that everyone is prepared for the event.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Returning clients! When clients come back, it is a huge indication that we did a good job and are now a trusted partner rather than just another vendor.

What is the first thing you tell your clients when they sign on with you for a project?
That I am here to help in any way possible!

What has been your favorite project you have worked on? And what about it did you enjoy so much?
How do you pick just one! (this is a cop out I know but really how do you pick one?)

We would like to know just a little bit more…

What do you do when you are not at work?
Spend time with my family and friends as much as possible. My husband and I take salsa classes and I practice yoga as much as I can. And of course, wine and Netflix when time permits!

What is your favorite genre of music?
My tastes are pretty diverse but I would say my favorite is indie rock.

Without naming the specific caterer, what has been your favorite thing you have tried from a caterer?
Beet Chips!

Of all the events you have been to or planned, what has been your favorite?
I am a little biased- but I have to say my wedding. It was everything I hoped it would be!

What is the coolest thing you have ever seen/witnessed at an event?
I realize how nerdy this is, but I really love seeing the big staging, lighting or audio systems come together.  I love it when you see a design on paper that looks impossible (or at least improbable) and then see the finished product!
